FRIDAY – MAY 28
10AM- On the River- at the Arboretum (Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave., Madrid) Story time and crafty snack! (Free/ All ages)
11AM- Walk and Talk (Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave., Madrid) Tour the grounds with Horticulture Project Manager, Leah Worth. (Free/ All ages)
2PM- “Cliff Dwellers” Guided Hike (Ledges State Park; 1515 P Ave., Madrid) Stop by the pop up station along Canyon Drive (near the 4th water crossing) and join park naturalists in viewing our local population of Cliff Swallows. They are only here for a short 3 months so don’t miss the opportunity to view and learn about these fascinating birds! Binoculars will be provided. (Free/ All ages)
5PM- Official BRVF Kick Off Block Party (Boone Valley Brewery, Boone) Free music with Nashville based, high- energy indie Americana folk- rock artist- JON WORTHY! Plus, food trucks and our Annual Bags Tournament! (Free entry)
SATURDAY – MAY 29
8AM- Adventures in Outdoor Photography (Old ice skating shelter; Park Ave., Boone) Beginner to the camera or a po, come learn a few tips to make your pics Instagram- worth! (Free/ All ages)
8AM-12PM Youth {16 yrs old and younger} Fishing Derby (Don Williams Park, 610 H. Ave., Ogden) Meet at the Open air shelter by the Marina Boat Ramp, last registration at 11:30A. Join Boone County Conservation for fishing fun! Prizes and giveaways! Parent must accompany children. (Free/ All ages)
9AM- “Spring at Ledges” Guided Hike (Ledges State Park; 1515 P Ave., Madrid) Join park staff for a hike to explore the incredible “wildness” that Ledges has to offer in the Springtime. (Free/ All ages)
11AM- Outdoors at Ericson (Ericson Public Library, 702 Greene St., Boone) Come for story time and crafts inside the Ericson Courtyard (Free/ All ages)
2PM- Geocaching at Ledges & Guided Hike (Meet at the Upper Picnic Area/ near campground entrance, 1515 P Ave., Madrid) Join Ledges naturalists for a modern-day treasure hunt! (Free/ all ages
