The Boone IA River Valley Festival Steering Committee is thrilled to announce it has received commitments from all bands for their LIVE Concert Event- including the headlining national, multi-platinum selling band- Night Ranger along with special guests and multi-platinum selling “rock gods” in their own right, Vince Neil and Great White. The concert event is now set for Sat., May 29, 2021.

10AM- Backyard Make n’ Take Craft and (virtual) Story time with Mr. Z at the Ericson Public Library (Free/ All ages)

11AM- Walk and Talk (Iowa Arboretum, 1875 Peach Ave., Madrid) Tour the grounds with Executive Director, Mark Schneider. (Free/ All ages)

5PM- Official BRVF Kick Off Block Party (Boone Valley Brewery, Boone) Come for FREE MUSIC with Danny Grause’s unique style of fusing a country foundation with funk, blues, and rock influences. Plus, plenty of our Boone River Valley Festival signature brews, food trucks and Kids Cornhole Tournament sponsored by Boone Rotary!

SATURDAY – MAY 29

8AM- Adventures in Outdoor Photography (Meet in the gravel area across from the Iowa Arboretum, Madrid) Beginner to the camera or a po, come learn a few tips to make your pics Instagram- worth! (Free/ All ages)

8AM-12PM Youth {16 yrs old and younger} Fishing Derby (Don Williams Park, 610 H. Ave., Ogden) Meet at the Open air shelter by the Marina Boat Ramp, last registration at 11:30A. Join Boone County Conservation for fishing fun! Prizes and giveaways! Parent must accompany children. (Free/ All ages)

Boone River Valley Festival’s Concert Night Has a Line Up Change-

The team with the Boone River Valley Festival announces changes in their line up for its concert at Seven Oaks. The team is excited to welcome VINCE NEIL– the legendary voice and front man of Mötley Crüe to the show! Vince Neil is an international superstar, accomplished businessman and heartfelt philanthropist. The front man leads some of the greatest rock songs of a generation including “Wild Side”, “Girls, Girls, Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood,” and many others. “We are excited Vince is kicking off the summer with us here in Boone, IA!” said Jennifer Hanson. Due to the continued travel restrictions regarding the COVID-19 virus, SKID ROW regretfully will not be able to appear at the River Valley Festival on May 29th. “The band hopes to return to the Boone, IA area as soon as safety permits,” Skid Row’s management said.

Plus the amazing GREAT WHITE! Changes? Yeah, they’ve had ‘em. Fallen off the path? Guilty. Slowed down? No way. Never. Don’t ever count these guys out of the game. We are days away from ROCKING OUT- LIVE- with the legendary voices of Vince Neil, Night Ranger AND Great White!! For some of us this is the FIRST concert we’ve been to since the pandemic—we’re so excited to be a part of this with you! Let’s go over some last-minute details to make this night a success for everyone.

ALL TICKET HOLDERS:

  • NO OUTSIDE FOOD or BEVERAGES! We will have plenty of non-alcoholic and adult beverages at the concert along with some amazing food truck offerings! BAGS WILL BE CHECKED- PLEASE HAVE CLEAR BAGS TO HELP MOVE SECURITY LINES ALONG!
  • SEATING IS IN AN OPEN, GRASSY AREA- CAMPING CHAIRS OR BLANKETS ARE ALLOWED! 
  • GATES OPEN AT 5PM. Our local favorite, Saucy Jack kicks us off right at 6pm. The line up from there is first Great White, then Vince Neil, then last- Night Ranger!
  • WE WILL HAVE LIMITED HANDICAPPED PARKING at Seven Oaks Please have sticker prominently visible and look for signage and staff to point you in the right direction.
  • COVID “conscious”: Although the mask mandate is lifted in Iowa and outdoor events are considered safer- please be courteous and respectful with your fellow concert-goers. It’s been a tough year folks and we are ALL incredibly excited to finally celebrate. Please give personal space where you can.
  • Our non-profit partner is Boone County Habitat for Humanity—give them some extra love as they serve you in the beer tents!

VIP TICKET HOLDERS:

  • VIP PARKING is AT SEVEN OAKS (see map). Please watch for signage at the concert directing crowd traffic.
  • One free drink ticket will be given at gate. Event signage will point you to where additional tickets can be purchased.

GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET HOLDERS:

  • PARKING: Parking for general admission and overflow is located in Boone at the DMACC Campus and the corner of Linn Street and Hancock Street adjacent to DMACC Boone Campus. (Please see map. For our out-of-town guests there will be lots of signage pointing the way.)
  • $10 covers your parking AND shuttle transportation for everyone in your vehicle. You will receive wristbands allowing unlimited shuttle use to/ from venue. LOST SHUTTLE WRISTBANDS COST $10/ EACH.
  • Shuttle service will transport you to the venue expeditiously! (We will have several shuttles running a loop from 4pm on through and after the show from GA parking to Seven Oaks)

2021 is turning out to be our biggest concert event in BRVF history- please pack some patience as we welcome you from 8 states and 2 countries! Team members and security personnel will be there to help answer questions.  Please look out for each other and let’s all have a GREAT time!

We’re stoked to share Iowa’s own Saucy Jack will be kicking off our little shin-dig in May! The life of the party since 1998, Saucy Jack features Stacy Peterson on bass guitar and vocals, Jim Poffenberger on guitar and vocals, and Andy Shelly on drums. Saucy Jack covers all your favorite classic rock songs from the 70’s and 80’s and have had the opportunity to open the show for such great acts as REO, Chicago, Loverboy, The Guess Who, Marshall Tucker Band, Firehouse, Head East, Molly Hatchet, and many more! 8:45AM- Community-wide Worship Service & Pancake Feed (Goeppinger Field/ Boone HS football field, Boone) Inter-denominational outdoor community-wide church service with free pancake breakfast- thanks to Fareway Stores in Boone! (Free/ All ages)

10AM- Arts in the Park (Main Shelter, McHose Park, Boone) A community favorite! Join us for dozens of hand crafted art, craft & vintage items, the Market, plus free live music from 11-3pm with a brand new high energy bluegrass style string band, Black Mountain Fever! Kid’s Corner with free books from Rotary of Boone, Food trucks and more! (Free entry/ All ages)
